The Future of 5G and 6G

5G, the future of internet technologies, will develop thanks to satellites. The future of 6G literally depends on satellite technologies.

The better things are in the air, the more productive our business will be on the ground.

The advancement of technology and the increasing demand for ubiquitous broadband internet services have once again demonstrated the importance of the option of providing internet from space to the consumer everywhere.

We still need to experiment with how 5G internet service standards are adapted for satellite connections, realize the near-orbit satellite services that have been successfully implemented and are now available for use, and work in this direction.

The most exciting technology of the Internet of Things fifth-generation mobile communications (5G) supporting massive machine-type communications is all objects and vehicles. With 5G, it will be possible for all machines such as aircraft, drones, all construction machines and war equipment to receive remote commands and move quickly and without errors.

Although this technology plans to serve machines located all over the world, mobile networks will be insufficient and costly due to geographical structures. Therefore, the great innovation and vital role of the use of barrier-free satellite technologies has been accepted all over the world.

Still, many countries and companies prefer to just monitor rather than invest in this technology. To understand the important advantages of unlimited and unconditional use of 5G, you can consider the ability to download a 2-minute file in 1 second.

60% of all communication technologies are accessed via satellites. The same method will be used for broadband internet. This time, closer satellites will be activated and the end consumer will use the internet without any borders.

Satellite networks will support a range of applications including greater Internet of Things (IoT) deployments, and easier access will enable faster transaction throughput.

Internet service is still not provided to approximately 2 billion people in the world. The main reason for this is geographical reasons. By 2026, 40% of the world’s population will have 5G service. There are huge differences here. The use of satellite technologies in broadband internet will bring equal ease of access.

For both the unserved and underserved, close-orbit small satellite networks in space will deliver true broadband services to everyone everywhere, not just in the form of traditional satellite internet services.

6G will transform cellular technology into base stations that can serve even the most remote places with near, medium and far orbit satellites and high altitude platforms. A base station on a location serves the area that the eye can see, but satellites are eyes that look from far away and they provide uninterrupted and unlimited service.

Closer orbit satellites with larger capacity will be the savior for 6G. The most obvious example of this service, which will be a bit expensive in its early stages, is that it allows you to transfer a 45-minute movie or work file in a minute or two.

Ships in the middle of the ocean, planes in the air and even launched spacecraft will have very easy access. 6G satellite technologies will rewrite the next generation service network and its quality

New World: METAVERSE

Generations X and Y would criticize virtual. Generation Z grew up with the virtual. Now, the last ALPHA generation seems to have already accepted the virtual life in the new living space, the METAVERSE.

People who used to greet each other without touching have now started to do their shopping and business online without touching. Like slaves in ancient times, today they will both operate and keep a virtual image alive on their own behalf.

First you make a high-quality digital proxy in minutes. Whether it is similar to you or not. Design this proxy suitable for both business and social areas.

The definition of this proxy; Avatar, MetaHuman Creator or the virtual you/the character that represents you.

We will recognize and adopt the streets, houses, workplaces, shopping malls and all other areas in virtual cities drawn on the Internet as the Metaverse or virtual universe. Don’t be surprised. If they had said 20 years ago that there would be internet and it would be impossible to live without it, the reaction to this issue would be the same as you have today.

People will live in a perceptual universe where they feel completely mentally, thanks to virtual reality devices, without making any physical effort. They will buy a house, earn rent and sell. Everything will be experienced here and exactly as it is in real life. Sometimes this order will go out of the system and what started in the virtual will end in reality.

This universe will include the matching, working and all movements of an artificial copy of a human being with all devices such as computers, iOS and Android, as in real life.

Virtual reality will prepare us as a first approach to all factors in real life.

Many people are already accustomed to living online. Now, one step further, we encounter a virtual world, the real use of virtual money, and most importantly, a new living space.

In the current examples, shopping, purchases, brand clothes, virtual meetings and everything else has already started to happen. Of course, the first step towards real contact, which is man’s greatest need, is taken here.

The first steps were taken with VR glasses. VR studies have been carried out on virtual worlds for 20 years. VR glasses, whose effectiveness has diminished from time to time, will now enter our lives in a more modern form.

A living and breathing virtual world is being created online. Cryptocurrency is also virtual. Everything is easier virtually and there is nothing to shy away from. Many people who are shy in real life will now be able to make new friendships and live different lives with the avatars that represent them in these META cities.

After we, as a society, decide to accept virtual things, virtual life and robots will always take up more space instead of people in reality. When I think about these issues, I always remember the hero Rıdvan’s battle with robots in Gırgır magazine. The world moves away from people and people become lonely. Whether we accept it or not. In the next 5 years, real estate prices in real life will compete with real estate prices in the virtual world, and even everything in the virtual world will be more expensive. It’s like Bitcoin or a work of art sold in the virtual world. In real life, no one would pay this much money for a painting.

The value of currency is virtual, our social hierarchy is virtual, and countries are virtual. Only these things are real because we believe they are real.

And the owners of the new world are software developers;

Billions of us aren’t struggling to understand how technology and the companies behind it are shaping our world, and what’s at stake as we rely on technology more than ever. They just do the same. In other words, the age of interaction governs the perception of all people.

We will all get used to it. It’s been developing very quickly since I first heard about it. Metaverse appears every day within the scope of a different project. Brands that have entered the Metaverse virtual universe are literally competing for space. I’m already starting to wonder if it’s time to take our place. Time and technology are changing faster than one can imagine.

Metaverse, which will represent a brand new era in human history, will begin to appear more frequently day by day. Even though we are very angry, we need to get used to it now and take our place there.

Metaverse will enable brands to reach millions of people around the world with their content more quickly and accurately, taking the internet age even further. There will be changes in every field. Metaverse will greatly improve the marketing and advertising industries. The walls of virtual buildings and shopping malls are already being formed and even their tenants are taking their places as candidates.

Do a little research, world giant brands are shifting their biggest promotional investments to this area. Maybe eighty percent of people in the world are unaware of it, but this field is developing very quickly. I can explain this speed with internet television, which is rapidly replacing antenna and cable in our industry. So, it is developing much faster than we thought, we should not be late.

The person currently investing the most in Metaverse is Mark Zuckerberg. He changed Facebook’s name to Meta. It is a huge step, it cannot be underestimated and must be strictly followed.

Cryptocurrency, NFT and token have been and will be elements that traders will be interested in and will be involved in. Remember how you interpreted e-commerce in its early days. Even if you object, you pay a lot of commission and stay there. What we need to do is to take our place in this virtual world before it is too late.

Labor peace between employees may be disrupted by the latest minimum wage!

Our companies providing service in our sector generally employ assistants and masters. While the assistant receives minimum wage, the master receives approximately a quarter of the wage. In other words, TL 2,826 is paid to the assistant staff and TL 3,500 is paid to the master. The newly determined minimum wage figure is TL 4,250. In other words, the lowest salaries increased by 50%. Considering the same increase, the salary the master will receive reaches TL 5,500.

It is not possible for the electronic repair and service sector, which cannot find trained personnel, to survive in these salary ranges. Today, our TV manufacturers pay a total fee of 77 TL for the installation of a 65 inch television. Considering that the installation of this television can be done by at least two people, it seems almost impossible to pay the installation costs and salaries of two workers.

The expenses of small tradesmen are increasing day by day. However, the wage he receives remains constant and melts against inflation. At least 50% additional time must be added to service fees and road progress fees. Of course, since this situation will create an additional burden on TV sales, our manufacturing companies are also experiencing problems. Since the wages of workers in our manufacturing companies are at least the minimum wage, it will not be easy to readjust the wage scale of all employees and ensure that qualified staff and unskilled staff or those who will work for the minimum wage work in harmony with each other.

Unfortunately, especially in this process where there is almost no wage difference between workers, the respect and hierarchy of employees will also deteriorate.

Actually, there aren’t many options. As long as there is a problem of trained personnel, all sectors will experience this problem. We must support Vocational Schools and Vocational High Schools.

Labor peace can only be achieved through real employee-employer harmony and balance. The increasing number of foreign workers around will cause unregistered work and the depletion of already existing professionals.

Our greatest wish is to ensure workers’ peace in these days when our country is experiencing economic difficulties.

Uses of Satellite Technologies in Disasters

Satellite technologies are the only savior without any alternative in emergency response and disaster relief.

Our country has experienced many painful times regarding earthquakes, and our communication problems have come to the fore after each earthquake. Not just an earthquake, but even in any emergency, if the communication is on the ground, problems have definitely occurred and will continue to occur. However, satellites provide direct service from space to the ground without any obstacles and are uninterrupted.

One of the most valuable features of satellites is that they can provide services from space even if any location’s terrestrial networks are damaged or destroyed, or even if areas on the ground are blocked and unmeasurable. This makes satellite services uniquely reliable and an invaluable tool for emergency responders during disaster relief.

Additionally, satellites assist humanitarian organizations and restoration teams during disaster management and recovery. Satellites can provide the capacity to transfer photos and videos containing situations that require priority communication after a disaster and as the main carrier for emergency communication of important institutions such as banks or gas stations. For these reasons, public safety agencies, emergency responders, all government agencies, and emergency commercial businesses should consider how to incorporate satellite services into their emergency communications preparations before a disaster.

Near orbit and remote satellites provide the most important services in emergency situations.

Thanks to KA band satellite internet, Wi-Fi service can be provided in the region with broadband internet and equipment connected to this data. With this service, anyone with a charged mobile phone can talk to each other, send videos and photos, regardless of distance, via internet access, without the need for any other technology.

Satellite phones can provide critical voice communications not only for emergency responders and rescue teams, but also for out-of-touch survivors looking to reach their families and loved ones.

Satellites can provide life-saving essential broadband and VSAT (KA Band systems) and data services to response and recovery agencies, hospitals and others in areas left without terrestrial internet and Wi-Fi services during a disaster. Data and broadband connections can be connected easily and quickly.

The systems to be built here will be provided by local and regional municipalities, who have already provided the infrastructure, and by TUYAD, satellite system experts who already have knowledge throughout our country, or by people who will provide easy communication even from a distance. The system will work with the easy training of people all over the country and the easy commissioning of the system by these trained people.

Satellites also provide reliable satellite data support and business continuity to gas stations and convenience stores for point-of-sale (POS) credit/debit card authorizations and inventory management. This allows consumers to continue purchasing fuel, water, food and other essential items during the recovery. This way, no one will be left without gas or food in case of a disaster.

Not only distant orbit satellites with very large investments, but also small satellites will be useful in case of disaster. Weather forecasting, instant photo or video sharing, and regional live viewing can be done with small satellites. Imaging from both small commercial satellites and advanced weather satellites provides important data as it helps local authorities plan life-saving evacuations in areas predicted to be heavily impacted by severe weather.

Photo and video comparison images that no other system or technology can provide are possible with satellite technologies. Satellite imaging helps pre- and post-response teams locate areas of flooding or major damage, perform search and rescue operations, assess damage to critical infrastructure, search for available routes, and prioritize aspects of response and recovery. Help and support can be obtained from satellites not only during fire or earthquake, but also at any time when search and rescue occurs.

Local and regional TV and radio channels can be accessed via satellite via instant data transfer and can immediately serve larger audiences. Satellite broadcasting and all satellite technologies currently carry 60% of telecommunications. Accordingly, the value of data best supports television news vehicles and emergency centers to provide on-site search and rescue information and services.

All data of mobile systems are transported and stored to ground stations via satellites. In case of an emergency, mobile phone backhaul services and storage services are only available on satellite systems. In order to ensure the continuity of voice, text or video services, mobile phone companies maintain their main carrier lines by connecting their own satellites or the capacities of satellite companies serving in the region to their own terminals. For this reason, mobile operators must work directly with satellite operators or have their own satellites.

For all these elements and the continuation of the already known satellite services, you must have sufficient satellite technology service. The issue of ownership here is the state of belonging to yourself. In other words, rented satellites will serve their own countries in case of disaster. If you do not have your own satellite, which is the personal property of the government or a private organization, there is no guarantee that the problem will be solved in the event of a disaster.

The most talked about today are close orbit satellites, that is, small satellites. They surround the world and their numbers are increasing every moment. Since their owners know that there is no allocation regulation, they continue to own them with all the investment they have. Because the allocation of places will be regulated soon. You can think of it like sun loungers on the beach. The beach is empty and you can swim from anywhere. After a while, places are allocated to someone and there is no room left for you. You can definitely sunbathe and swim in the sea by paying rent.

Now our country has lost its place in distant orbit satellites. We know this and we protect our existing locations with our satellites. We have TURKSAT satellites that we can use in case of disaster. However, we do not have ground stations that we can activate in case of disaster. These need to be resolved as soon as possible.

We have a TAZİS TUYAD (Disaster Communication System) project on this subject. Our corporate members have worked on this subject in many countries around the world and are experienced. The only thing to do is to work on this issue as soon as possible.

Support from Türksat to Local TV Channels

Türksat will apply a 50% discount on the uplink service fee of channels that receive satellite broadcasting service (uplink) and have a bandwidth of 2 Mbps or less. The discount will be applied as of November 1.

In the statement made by Türksat, it was stated that by applying technological developments in the television broadcasting sector, the company reduced satellite usage costs with MPEG-4 broadcast technology, which paved the way for broadcasters in the country to broadcast better quality at lower capacity bandwidths.

In the statement, it was noted that the company was preparing to provide another significant support to local television channels.

50% discount will be applied to the uplink service fee

Taking the exchange rate fixing practice, which has been going on for years, one step further in order to develop television broadcasting via satellite and support the channels operating in this field, Türksat offers a 50% discount on the uplink service fee of television channels with a satellite capacity  bandwidth of 2 Mbps and below that receive uplink service as of November 1. will start implementation.

Satellite Wars

Satellite warfare and anti-satellite weapons began to be tested.

After the USA and Russia, satellite warfare studies were initiated in China and Korea. In fact, satellite-to-ground pointing, steam injection and the most common tracking systems up to 50 cm were already known and used models. While we only use satellites for TV and internet systems, many countries in the world have already started using satellites in war efforts.

In fact, we are against and do not support war because all kinds of war mean the end of humanity. However, if the system is moving in this direction, our country should carry out studies in this field.

It is observed that Russia, which has declared that it has tested satellite warfare and anti-satellite weapons, will be a pioneer in space wars. World giants who are interested in the militarization of space after land are planning to win the war from where they sit.

The USA established its space command years ago and is currently using it. They do not have a problem explaining their exercises in space wars. It is also known that they destroyed many satellites that were already finished in the space junk just for practice.

In the chase in space in the last decade, sometimes Russian and sometimes Chinese satellites have been defeated in space wars. Sometimes, US satellites get a chance to escape at the last moment. These news are constantly on the agenda of satellite and space scientists. Although there are experts working on this subject in our country, they are not given priority.

As Turkey’s Satellite Industry Association TUYAD, we are determined about the sustainability of space. Space belongs to all humanity and cannot be monopolized. Satellite wars will put the global sharing of space at risk. This poses a risk for all countries of the world. We definitely do not approve of human beings, who cannot ensure a peaceful life on Earth, taking wars to space.

The USA, Russia and China, which carried out these studies in the first place, should give up space warfare and weapons. Satellites should be used for human communication and service, not for war. Collaborative work should be done to help protect the freedom of discovery and use of new planets.

Minimum Wage and Taxes

The minimum wage should be increased, but the taxes of industrialists and tradesmen should be reduced!

The employee’s expectation of a wage increase also concerns employers closely due to the high tax burden. Employees need to be paid a wage that will not keep them oppressed by inflation and maintain their level of welfare. However, it is essential to ease the tax burden on the minimum wage.

It is a fact that tradesmen and industrialists are experiencing economic difficulties under current market conditions. Millions of citizens working for minimum wage are waiting for the increase rate to improve in the rush to work and earn a comfortable living. The raise rate to be applied next year concerns employers as well as employees.

As an association representing the telecommunications sector, we are always in favor of spreading a happy and peaceful work environment to all employees of our country. It would be beneficial to take some precautions against price increases that make life difficult day by day. The demands of employees and the issue of increasing insufficient salaries, which the government has been expressing for a long time, are as important as reducing the tax and SSI premium burden on wages.

It is a fact that the time has come to ensure increase and prosperity. During this increase process, a certain improvement will be achieved in the salaries of employees. We also find it important that employers’ taxes are reduced at the same rate and that the applied income tax brackets are updated taking into account the announced inflation.Reducing the tax burden is very important in order for the increase rate to be applied to have a real impact on the employee. Otherwise, it is possible that there will be a decrease in the number of employed people.

EXCHANGE CRISIS

Considering both products and raw materials, our sector is mostly dependent on foreign sources. Imports are the basis of most of the products we produce and offer to the market. Therefore, the exchange rate crisis we have been experiencing recently has deeply affected our entire sector. While some of our companies have stopped their sales, some cannot even predict which product they can sell for how much or how much they can cost. Beyond the rapid depreciation of TL, the fact that the exchange rate could not stabilize, brought the market to a halt.

Our companies are expecting a fixed exchange rate that will get them out of this bottleneck. This situation of our companies, which anxiously await the fluctuations in the exchange rate, also threatens employment. Our expectation is to implement emergency precaution plans that will ensure that money markets stabilize as soon as possible. The mobility of the market is only possible if the future is predictable. The interest of our country comes before all personal interests. As an entire sector, we all look at each other and act in accordance with our state’s actions and discourses, not knowing what to do, and we will continue to do so.
